Concept Case Study: Willowbrook Equestrian
Brand refresh ~ Social Media Strategy ~ Content Creation
A fictional concept project created by H&H to demonstrate our approach to equestrian and rural businesses.
The Client
Willowbrook Equestrian is a fictional Cotswolds-based riding school and livery yard, established in 2018.
With 35 stables, indoor and outdoor arenas, a cross-country field and course, woodland hacking and horsebox parking, Willowbrook offers a welcoming environment for riders, horse owners and families.
The brand needed to reflect its friendly, professional and knowledgeable approach, while keeping the horse and the community at the heart of everything it does.
Target audience:
Women aged 24-55 ~ Horse owners ~ Parents ~ Intermediate riders ~ Local professionals ~ Teen riders ~ Returning adults ~ Families
The Goals
The concept strategy was designed around five key objectives:
Increase riding lesson bookings by 30%
Fill remaining livery spaces within 6 months
Increase awareness of other offerings (children’s birthday parties, cross-country course and arena hire)
Grow Instagram from 623 to 2,000 followers and Facebook from 851 to 2,000 followers
Establish Willowbrook as a premium, trusted local riding school and livery yard
The Challenge
Our initial audit identified several opportunities within Willowbrook’s existing online presence
Inconsistent branding - No clear visual identity across social media.
Inconsistent content - Posting only 1-3 times per month meant there were limited opportunities to stay visible and build an engaged audience.
Limited video content - Stories and Reels were underused despite being ideal for showing authentic yard life.
Low engagement - Content wasn’t consistently encouraging conversation, interaction or enquiries.
Weak calls to action - Posts often provided information without clearly telling the audience what to do next.
Limited time: as a busy owner, Sally needed a content approach that was realistic and maintained without requiring professional photography every week.
Our Approach
Rather than creating a completely polished or corporate brand, we wanted Willowbrook to feel real, welcoming and established.
The strategy focused on combining professional branding with authentic day-to-day content from the yard.
1 - Refresh the Brand
A new visual identity inspire by the Cotswolds, Willowbrook’s natural surroundings and its equestrian heritage.
Forest greens ~ Soft neutrals ~ Willow imagery ~ Clean layouts ~ Natural photography
The result: Premium without feeling intimidating.
2 - Create Content With Purpose
Rather than posting whatever content was available that week, we created five clear content pillars:
Education ~ Riding tips, horse care, and useful equestrian advice.
Community ~ Rider spotlights, achievements, team introductions and yard stories.
Behind the scenes ~ Morning routines, horse personalities, yard life and authentic moments.
Promotional ~ Lessons, livery availability, facility hire and birthday parties.
Inspiration ~ Beautiful horses, countryside, riding moments and aspirational equestrian content.
This gives Willowbrook variety while ensuring every post has a purpose.
3 - Build Consistency
A realistic weekly content structure was created to keep Willowbrook visible without overwhelming the team.
3 x Feed Posts
2 x Reels
Weekday Stories
This strategy prioritises authentic smartphone content, making the strategy easier to maintain while keeping the brand personal
The Social Media System
To make Willowbrook’s content more recognisable and consistent, we created a set of reusable social media assets.
Instagram Templates ~ for educational posts, announcements, rider spotlights, horse features and promotional content
Carousel Templates ~ Designed around a simple structure useful equestrian knowledge into saveable and sharable content :
Hook → Value → Takeaway → Call to action
Reel Covers ~ consistent covers for recurring content
Story Highlights ~ Horses, Lessons, Livery, Parties, Reviews, The Yard, Meet Us, Find Us
Calls to Action~ Clear purposeful CTAs were introduced throughout:
‘Book a Lesson’
‘Enquire about Livery’
‘Send us a message’
‘Tell us in the comments’
Content In Action
We created a range of example posts designed around Willowbrook’s content pillars and brand identity.

The Thinking Behind the Strategy
Every element was designed to support a business objective, not just make Willowbrook’s instagram look better.
Brand consistency builds recognition
Educational content demonstrates expertise
Community content builds connection and loyalty
Behind-the-scenes content makes the business feel authentic
Promotional content creates opportunities for enquiries
Clear call to actions make it easier for followers to take the next step
Together these create a social presence that looks professional, feels personal and has a clear purpose.
Example Post
Designed to encourage followers to share their own photos and memories of Willowbrook horses, turning a regular feature into an opportunity for community participation.
A monthly competition could see Willowbrook select the top 5 entries, with winners receiving a free loan da or lesson, This encouraged user-generated content, increases engagement and strengthens the sense of community around the yard.
The Outcome
For this concept project, H&H created a complete brand and social media foundation for Willowbrook Equestrian - from the visual identity and content strategy through to reusable templates and example content.
The result is a brand designed to feel:
Professional & Welcome.
Authentic & Knowledgeable.
Example Carousel
